Offshore Floating Wind

The procurement process will involve awarding a contract for the supply of renewable energy through the design, build, operation and maintenance of an Offshore Floating Wind Farm in an area beyond the 12NM earmarked for the development of RES in the National Policy for the Deployment of Offshore Renewable Energy. The successful economic operator will construct and own the offshore Floating Wind Farm and will then supply electricity to the sole Maltese DSO (Enemalta) at agreed terms governed by a CfD (contract-for-difference) for which the Government of Malta (GoM) will be a signed party. The GoM CfD will reflect the difference between the strike price and the proxy market price.
